Manage device suppliers in Apple Business
Overview
You can have your devices added to Apple Business at the time of purchase. To do so, you need to:
Share your Organization ID.
Enter the Reseller Number for the Apple Authorized Reseller or the authorized cellular carrier you purchase from.
Enter an Apple Customer Number if you are purchasing from Apple.
Your Organization ID
An Organization ID is your unique identifier in Apple Business. When you give a participating Apple Authorized Reseller or an authorized cellular carrier your Organization ID (and you add that reseller’s Reseller Number to your account profile), you authorize that reseller to submit devices you purchased through them to Apple so their serial numbers appear in Apple Business. The Organization ID can also be used with app developers so they can distribute Custom Apps specific to your organization.
Reseller Numbers
A Reseller Number is a unique identifier for each Apple Authorized Reseller or authorized cellular carrier who allows purchases to automatically appear in Apple Business. When you add a participating Apple Authorized Reseller’s, or carrier’s Reseller Number to your account profile (and you give that reseller your Organization ID), you authorize that reseller or carrier to submit devices you purchased through them to Apple so their serial numbers appear in Apple Business.
If you don’t know the Reseller Number of your participating Apple Authorized Reseller or your authorized cellular carrier, contact them for assistance.
After the Organization ID and Reseller Numbers are exchanged and verified, you can arrange with your participating Apple Authorized Reseller or your authorized cellular carrier to have them submit your orders through their portal to Apple (it won’t happen automatically).
Apple Customer Numbers
The Apple Customer Number is the account number (or numbers) assigned to your organization by Apple, used to purchase Apple hardware or software. If you don’t know the numbers, contact your purchasing agent, finance department, or Apple account team. This number isn’t the same as your GSX account number.
