Listen to music together in FaceTime on your iPhone or iPad

With SharePlay, everyone can listen to music and control playback together on a FaceTime call.

Here's what everyone needs

• An iPhone or iPad updated to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS

• A music streaming service app that supports SharePlay

Some music streaming services require a subscription to play music.

Start a SharePlay music session in a FaceTime call

1. Start a FaceTime call.

2. Swipe up from the bottom edge of the FaceTime call.

3. Open a music streaming app that supports SharePlay.

4. Play a song or album. If prompted, tap SharePlay.

5. To return to the FaceTime call, tap the picture in picture tile.

Playback controls are shared by everyone, so anyone can play, pause, rewind, or fast forward.

Start a SharePlay music session in a music app

You can also start a SharePlay music session from supported music apps.

1. Open your music app.

2. Find a song, album, or playlist that you want to share. Tap the Menu button or the Share button.

3. Tap the SharePlay button, then enter the contacts that you want to call.

4. Tap FaceTime to start FaceTime video. Or tap the Audio button to start FaceTime audio.

5. Start the music.

Join a SharePlay music session in a FaceTime call

1. In a FaceTime call, tap Open next to Join SharePlay.

   

2. When the music streaming app opens, tap Join SharePlay.

3. To return to the FaceTime call, tap the picture in picture tile.

End SharePlay

1. At the top of the FaceTime call, tap the SharePlay button.

2. Tap End SharePlay.

3. Tap End for Everyone or End Only for Me.

Find out which apps support SharePlay

1. In a FaceTime call, tap the Share Content button.

2. Under Apps for SharePlay, swipe through the list of your installed apps that you can share from, then tap an app to open it. Or tap More to browse supported apps in the App Store.
