Overview of tools in Logic Pro for Mac
Logic Pro for Mac provides tools for a variety of editing tasks and other functions. Tool menus are available in the Tracks area, in various editors (including the Piano Roll, Audio Track, Audio File, Score, and Step Editors), and in the Environment. Some tools are available in all working areas, and others are available only in one or several working areas. When you choose a tool from the Tool menu, the pointer changes to show the chosen tool.
In general, you use a tool by clicking a region, note, or other item in that working area. If multiple regions are selected when you use a tool, the edits apply to all the selected regions (for example, the Scissors tool cuts all selected regions at the same time position).

Where tools are available, there are two Tool menus: a Left-click and a Command-click Tool menu. You can assign separate tools to the Left-click and Command-click Tool menus. (You can also assign the right mouse button if your mouse supports one.) For information about assigning tools, see Assign tools.
The Command-click and Right-click Tool menus are available when Enable Complete Features is selected in Logic Pro > Settings > Advanced.
