Prepare to use Branded Mail in Apple Business
In Apple Business, you can configure Branded Mail. Branded Mail gives business owners the ability to add a brand logo and name to their business emails. Branded Mail also helps owners build their brand identity, increase trust when communicating with customers and make their emails stand out in the Mail app on Apple devices and iCloud Mail on the web. To use this feature, your organisation needs to own the brand. The review process can take up to seven working days.
Third-party partners, who currently manage locations and brands in Apple Business on behalf of their clients, can also manage Branded Mail for their clients.
Note: Customers can see your brand in email only 1) on iPhone when one of the following is set to the default language: English, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Spanish or Simplified Chinese and 2) in iCloud.
Before you begin
Before you begin, you should consider the following:
Franchisees: A franchisee needs to work with the brand owners to use Branded Mail.
Email domain names: The email domain name needs to be a commercial name to use Branded Mail. Non-commercial email domains aren’t permitted. For example, icloud.com, mac.com, gmail.com, outlook.com, and yahoo.com are non-commercial email domains and therefore aren’t permitted to use Branded Mail.
Domain mail records: The domain needs to have one of the following records to support email: MX, A or AAAA.
Email address only: You can add a specific email address if you want to link your branding to emails your customers receive from that specific email address.
Domain information: You can control how your logo shows up at various levels, based on your needs.
See Domain structure below.
Combined email limit: A brand can’t have more than 100 domains, subdomains and email addresses.
Brand: The brand and brand logo need to be approved by Apple. See Add, edit or remove a brand.
Verification: Your organisation needs to be verified by Apple. See Verify your organisation.
DMARC mail server settings: Your mail server needs to meet DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) requirements. All emails sent to customers need to be authenticated by DKIM. Authentication only by SPF isn’t supported.
Domain structure
You can choose which domains can use Branded Mail.
Domain and subdomains: @melardclothing.com
You could verify melardclothing.com, which then allows you to use that domain and any subdomain with Branded Mail. For example, sales.melardclothing.com, returns@melardclothing.com and so on.
You can also use any word before the @ sign, such as “sales”, “returns” or a person’s name.
Subdomain only: @members.melardclothing.com
You might want @members.melardclothing.com matched to another brand or brand logo. For example, a membership programme may have a different brand logo. You can still use any word before the @ sign in any email, such as “sales” or a person’s name.
Specific email address: sales@melardclothing.com
All emails to customers would come from this specific email address approved by Apple.
Important: Domains need to be verified by Apple and you have only 14 calendar days to complete the verification process or you need to start again. Depending on the network configuration, it may take some time for DNS changes to appear. Make sure you’ve notified the person in your organisation who can write records to your DNS entries (for example, your IT or DNS administrator) so the task can be completed before the expiration. Make sure they have reviewed Add and verify a domain.
Requirements for order tracking with Apple Intelligence
Apple Wallet uses Apple Intelligence to automatically find order confirmation and shipping emails in the customer’s Mail app. It extracts key details like the merchant, status and tracking number, displaying them conveniently within Apple Wallet so customers can easily track their purchases. To make sure your customers can take advantage of this, make sure to include the following information in your emails to customers:
Merchant name
Order number
Tracking number
This allows the Apple on-device models to properly associate carrier emails to your orders.
