iCloud support
iCloud is a service from Apple that securely stores personal user information, keeps it up to date on all their devices, and makes it easy to share photos, files, and more.
Users can store content such as contacts, calendars, documents, and notes and keep them up to date across multiple Apple devices.
iCloud works with Managed Apple Accounts and unmanaged Apple Accounts.
You might encounter users whose devices won’t sync or can’t access iCloud features.
If your organization uses Managed Apple Accounts, your IT department can use device management and Apple School Manager or Apple Business Manager to manage which apps and services users can access.
You can also support users by verifying that their iCloud settings are configured correctly and their data syncs between devices.
By understanding iCloud apps and features, you can help users resolve issues so that they can minimize data loss, protect sensitive information, and maintain a secure and efficient digital work environment.
Check out a list of Apps and features that use iCloud.
Note: A device management service can configure these settings. For more information about your organization’s requirements and device policies, check with your device management administrator.
Use iCloud with a Managed Apple Account
Organizations can customize any of the features listed below to meet their needs. This customization includes specifying the devices on which a user can sign in with their Managed Apple Account:
Store data in iCloud.
Store data in iCloud Drive.
Store passwords and passkeys in iCloud Keychain.
Access iCloud data on any device.
Access Apple Wallet.
Use iCloud Backup to back up user devices.
Sign in to icloud.com from a Mac to access data.
Share Keynote, Numbers, or Pages documents.
Because users have Managed Apple Accounts only within an organization, certain features might be restricted to protect individual privacy and the organization. Your device management administrator can also view available iCloud storage in Apple School Manager and Apple Business Manager. For more information, see:
