Autonomous Single App Mode payload settings for Apple devices
You can set an app to control your Mac enrolled in a mobile device management (MDM) solution by using the Autonomous Single App Mode payload. This payload must be user approved.
For information about the Single App Mode payload for iPhone and iPad, see Single App Mode payload settings.
OS and channel | Supported enrolment types | Interaction | Duplicates |
|---|---|---|---|
macOS device | Device Automated Device | Exclusive | Single |
Apps from the App Store aren’t eligible for use with this payload, which can be installed only under these conditions:
If the Mac appears in Apple School Manager or Apple Business Manager
You must contact the app developer and obtain the information required to generate an appropriate Autonomous Single App Mode payload for the app. Installing such a payload on a Mac will grant that app low-level access to the system — which includes, but is not limited to, installing systemwide monitoring capabilities.
