AirPlay payload settings for Apple devices
You can define AirPlay destinations for iPhone, iPad and Mac devices enrolled in a mobile device management (MDM) solution. Use the AirPlay payload to preconfigure passwords for AirPlay Mirroring destinations and to list allowed destinations for the device.

Apple Configurator 2
You manage the following with this payload in Apple Configurator 2:
Setting | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
Passwords | Configure the device with passwords for password-protected AirPlay destinations that users can connect to. After you make the passwords part of the device, fewer people need to know them. | No |
Approved list | Add the MAC addresses of destination devices in order to enable AirPlay with only those devices. If this list is empty, the device can connect to any device. Note: Both the Wi-Fi and Ethernet address for each device should be added to the approved list. | No |
Note: You can add destinations found by Bonjour or other destinations that you know the name and password of. The Discoverable list shows all the destinations the computer with Apple Configurator 2 can find using Bonjour. If the destination you want to save a password for is listed, select it and then enter the device password. If the destination you want to save a password for isn’t listed, select Undiscoverable and then enter the device name and password.
