Block or allow access and changes to features and apps on your kid’s device
Your child’s device comes with built-in apps and features they may not need right away, like Camera and AirDrop. You can choose which ones your child can use, and whether they can change settings like Location Services or Face ID & Passcode on their own. As your child gets older, you can revisit these choices at any time.
Block or allow access to built-in apps or features
You can turn off built-in apps and features on your child’s device, like Camera, AirDrop, and CarPlay.
Note: When you block an app, it isn’t deleted, it’s hidden from the Home Screen until you turn it back on.
Open your child’s settings:
On iPhone or iPad: Go to the Settings app, tap Family, then tap your child’s name.
On Mac: Go to System Settings, click Family, then click your child’s name.
Tap or click Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap or click Other Features, then allow or block any of the settings shown, like AirDrop, Camera, and more.
Block or allow changes to settings
You can block your child’s ability to make changes to the settings on their device, like Face ID & Passcode, Location Services, Share My Location, and more.
Open your child’s settings:
On iPhone or iPad: Go to the Settings app, tap Family, then tap your child’s name.
On Mac: Go to System Settings, click Family, then click your child’s name.
Tap or click Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap or click Allow Changes to Settings, then allow or block any of the settings shown, like Accounts, Contacts, Photos, or Calendar.
