Halftone effects in Pixelmator Pro on iPad
Pixelmator Pro includes Halftone effects to create screen-printing effects with dots and lines:
Circular Screen adds circular black-and-white halftone patterns over a layer.
CMYK Halftone recreates images using red, yellow, magenta, and black as in four-color printing.
Dot Screen recreates images using black-and-white dots as in a halftone screen.
Hatched Screen recreates images using crosshatched black-and-white halftone lines.
Line Screen recreates images using parallel black and white line screens.
Halftone effects controls
Halftone effects have the following adjustment controls in the Effects pane. You can access the controls after applying an effect to a layer or adding an effects layer.
Control | Used in these effects | Description |
|---|---|---|
Width | All halftone effects | Drag this slider to control the size of dots or lines in the pattern. |
Sharpness | All halftone effects | Drag this slider to control the edge definition of dots or lines. Higher values create crisper, more defined halftone patterns |
Angle | CMYK Halftone, Dot Screen, Hatched Screen, Line Screen | Drag this slider to adjust the angle of the halftone pattern. Different angles create different orientations for the screen effect. |
Gray Component Replacement | CMYK Halftone | Drag this slider to control how grays are rendered. Different values affect the balance of color mixing. |
Under Color Removal | CMYK Halftone | Drag this slider to darken or lighten near-black areas. |
Effect ropes | All halftone effects | Drag these onscreen controls to position the halftone screen pattern on your image. If effect ropes aren’t visible, tap |
