Overview of the Logic Pro for Mac 3D Object Panner
You use the 3D Object Panner when mixing spatial audio with Dolby Atmos to position mono and stereo output signals of object tracks in 3D space. To make the 3D Object Panner visible in the Output slot of a channel strip, you must set up your project for spatial audio.
Note: The audio output on an object track is routed directly to one of the 118 object inputs on the Dolby Atmos plug-in. Positioning the signal on a track with the 3D Object Panner creates pan metadata that is sent to the same corresponding object input on the Dolby Atmos plug-in and kept separate from the audio signal.
3D Object Panner control
The pan control of the 3D Object Panner on the channel strip and in the track header has a square shape instead of a circular shape like the Surround Panner. This is the only visual indication that a track is an object track. The green pan puck, similar to the Surround Panner, shows the planar position, and you can adjust it by dragging the puck inside the control.
