Ange en DNS-server på datorn
En DNS-server (Domain Name System) omvandlar internetnamn till IP-adresser så att du inte måste känna till IP-adressen för den server du ansluter till. Om du använder en DNS-server kan du t.ex. nå Apples webbplats genom att skriva ”www.apple.com” i webbläsarens adressfält – du behöver inte känna till IP-adressen till servern där Apples webbplats finns. I de flesta fallen ansluter datorn automatiskt till en DNS-server när du ansluter till internet, men du kan även ange DNS-serverinställningar manuellt.
Vill du veta om du ska ansluta till en särskild DNS-server, och vilken adress du i så fall ska använda, kontaktar du internetleverantören eller nätverksadministratören.
Välj Apple-menyn > Systeminställningar på datorn och klicka på Nätverk.
Markera den tjänst du använder när du ansluter till internet (t.ex. Ethernet) i listan till vänster.
Kontrollera att rätt IP-adress är angiven för den DNS-server du vill använda i fältet DNS-server. Om adressen inte stämmer klickar du på Avancerat. Klicka på DNS och ange rätt adress.
Du kan ange adresser för flera servrar genom att skriva ett komma mellan adresserna.
Om du får ett meddelande av typen ”Servern hittades inte” när du försöker besöka en webbplats kan det bero på att datorn inte får kontakt med en DNS-server. Om du valde en DNS-server manuellt kanske du angav fel DNS-serveradress, eller så kan det vara problem med DNS-servern.
