
Copy, share and lock Handouts in Schoolwork
After you create a Handout, you can copy the Handout to use it again later, or use it in another class. You can also copy the link for a posted Handout to share the Handout outside Schoolwork.
When you want to pause work on a Handout, you can lock the Handout. If you need to use a Handout after you lock it, you can unlock the Handout.
Copy a Handout
When copying a Handout, Schoolwork creates a new Handout using the activities and work from the original Handout. Schoolwork does not copy over any Handout recipients.
Important: Imported Handouts are not visible to others until you create a copy, add recipients and post the Handouts.
In the Schoolwork app
, tap
Handouts in the bottom tab.
In the sidebar, tap Recents, a class, Drafts, Favourites, Imports or a class archive in [your organisation].
Tap
for the Handout you want to copy, then tap Create a Copy.
For Imports, you can also tap the Handout you want to copy, then tap Create a Copy.
Edit the copied Handout details, then do one of the following:
If you are ready to post your Handout, tap
.
If you are not ready to post your Handout, tap Cancel, then tap Save as Draft to save it as a draft to send at a later time.
Share a Handout
You can copy the link for a posted Handout to share the Handout with your students and other teachers outside Schoolwork.
In the Schoolwork app
, tap
Handouts in the bottom tab.
In the sidebar, tap Recents, a class, Favourites, or a class archive in [your organisation].
Do one of the following:
Tap the Handout you want to share, tap
, tap Share, then tap Copy.
Tap
for the Handout you want to share, tap Share, then tap Copy.
Schoolwork copies the Handout link to your Clipboard.
To view and share the Handout, paste the Handout link into a message or email that students or teachers can access on their iPadOS device.
Lock a Handout
When you want to pause work on a Handout, you can lock it. When you lock a Handout, progress is no longer reported and students can no longer make changes to the Handout (for example, submit and replace work, collaborate on Handout items or mark an activity as done). When you view a locked Handout, you can see all progress data up until the locked date.
After you lock a Handout, if you want to give a student more time to complete an activity in the Handout, you can tap Allow to Complete to unlock an activity for a student.
In the Schoolwork app
, tap
Handouts in the bottom tab.
In the sidebar, tap Recents, a class or Favourites.
Do one of the following:
Tap the Handout you want to lock, tap
, then tap Lock.
Tap
for the Handout you want to lock, then tap Lock.
Note: It is easy to unlock a Handout — simply tap for a locked Handout, then tap Unlock.
