Typer av hårddiskar som du kan använda med Time Machine på datorn
Du kan använda Time Machine med en Time Capsule och med USB-, FireWire- och Thunderbolt-hårddiskar. Hårddisken kan vara ansluten direkt till datorn eller finnas i nätverket. Om en hårddisk har partitioner kan du använda en av partitionerna till säkerhetskopiering.
Time Machine kan inte säkerhetskopiera till en iPhone, iPad eller iPod eller en hårddisk som är formaterad för Windows. Om du ansluter en skiva som är formaterad för Windows kan den formateras om (vilket tar bort alla data permanent) till ett Mac-format och användas till säkerhetskopiering.
Det vanligaste formatet för en hårddisk för Time Machine-säkerhetskopiering är Mac OS Extended (journalförd), men Time Machine stöder även formaten Mac OS Extended (skiftlägeskänslig, journalförd) och Xsan.
Viktigt: Du kan säkerhetskopiera från en HFS+- eller APFS-formaterad skiva till en HFS+-skiva. Däremot kan Time Machine inte säkerhetskopiera till en APFS-formaterad skiva. Om du väljer en APFS-formaterad skiva för säkerhetskopiering frågar Time Machine om du vill formatera om den som HFS+.
Om hårddisken har partitionstypen MBR (Master Boot Record) kanske vissa partitioner inte går att använda med Time Machine.
Om hårddisken för säkerhetskopiering finns i ett nätverk kan nätverksservern använda SMB-fildelning. Datorn måste vara ansluten till SMB-servern när du ställer in Time Machine. När du har valt att säkerhetskopiera till nätverkshårddisken i inställningspanelen Time Machine ansluter Time Machine automatiskt till hårddisken när det är dags att säkerhetskopiera eller återskapa dina data.
Obs! Vissa SMB- och AFP-hårddiskar från andra tillverkare än Apple stöder inte Time Machine. Om ditt nätverk innehåller en SMB- eller AFP-hårddisk, men hårddisken inte visas i listan över tillgängliga enheter för säkerhetskopiering med Time Machine, kontaktar du hårddiskens tillverkare.
