What’s new in Final Cut Pro for Mac
Final Cut Pro 10.8 introduces new features and enhancements, detailed below.
Enhance Light and Color
Automatically improve the color, color balance, contrast, and brightness of video or still images using the new Enhance Light and Color effect, powered by machine learning. See Automatically enhance light and color.
Smooth Slo-Mo
Use Smooth Slo-Mo to create amazing slow-motion visuals with an AI-enhanced algorithm on Mac models with Apple silicon. See Apply Smooth Slo-Mo and Smooth out a slow-motion clip with video quality presets. You can use the same algorithm to match the frame rate of a clip to the frame rate of a project. See Choose a method of conforming frame rate.
Advanced search and filtering
Search in the timeline index by reel, scene, camera angle, camera name, custom metadata, or effect name (default or custom). See Search for items in the timeline index.
Use new filters in the timeline index to quickly identify clips with audio effects, video effects, retiming changes, missing media, or missing effects. See Filter clips in the timeline index.
Search for clips in the browser using new “Starts With” and “Ends With” search options. See Search for clips and projects by a combination of criteria.
Improved effects control
Stay organized by renaming color corrections and video effects in the inspector. See Rename video effects in Final Cut Pro for Mac and Add color correction effects in Final Cut Pro for Mac.
Drag effects right from the inspector to other clips in the timeline or viewer. See Copy effects between clips in Final Cut Pro for Mac.
System requirements
The minimum system requirement is macOS Ventura 13.5. For more information, go to the Final Cut Pro Tech Specs webpage.
