Add, view, hide, and delete courses in Public Site Manager
To add an iTunes U course to the iTunes U catalog, you must first add the course to the Courses view in Public Site Manager. After you add courses in the Courses view, you can then view, hide, and delete courses in Public Site Manager.
When you publish your site, all your content is live in the iTunes U catalog and visible to the public. If you are ready to publish but have specific content you do not want to make visible to the public, you can use the Hide and Unhide links to temporarily block the content from your users. For example, if you have an out-of-season or newly added course not ready for publishing, you can hide the course from your iTunes U Public Site Manager site without losing any information. When you are ready to publish the content, you simply unhide the course. To remove content from your site, you can delete a course.
The first time you publish, content can take up to 3 hours to display in the iTunes U catalog.
Depending on your changes, subsequent publish requests can take several minutes to an hour before the changes are live in the iTunes U catalog. If you add, hide, or delete a course or update an iTunes U Public Site Manager page, you must publish your site for the changes to appear in the iTunes U catalog.
After you publish a course, updates and changes you make to the course in iTunes U do not require a publish request. Course updates can take several minutes to an hour before the changes are live in the iTunes U catalog.
Add a course
In Public Site Manager , click Courses, then click Add a Course.
Enter the iTunes U course link or enrollment code, then click Add. For example, https://itunesu.itunes.apple.com/enroll/FT5-Q6T-6Q6 or FT5-Q6T-6Q6.
iTunes U Public Site Manager adds the new course. When you publish the site, the course is published in the iTunes U catalog and available publicly for all users to view and subscribe.
Click Pages, then click your provider page title.
Confirm the All Courses feature box is included in the Feature Boxes area.
You can only add an iTunes U course if the following are true:
The course instructor is affiliated with your institution (or a Managed Apple ID instructor and organization).
The course is associated with your institution.
The course instructor selects Add to Public Catalog from the Settings pop-up menu in iTunes U to submit the course for inclusion in the iTunes U catalog.
The course contains a course image.
The course is associated with a category.
Note: After you add courses, you must then publish your content live for your users in the iTunes U catalog.
View courses
In Public Site Manager , click Courses, click the course you want to view, then copy the iTunes Store URL.
Hide a course
In Public Site Manager , click Courses, click the course you want to hide, then click Hide.
Before you publish, if you want to unblock the content, click the course, then click Unhide.
After you publish, when you are ready to display the content live to your users, click the course, then click Unhide. iTunes U Public Site Manager reverts the course status. The course is live when you publish your site again.
When you hide a course, iTunes U Public Site Manager hides the course content throughout your site. You can’t feature the hidden course or materials in your provider page, search for content within the course, display the course in category pages, and so on. In addition, hidden courses are not subject to the publishing criteria.
Delete a course
In Public Site Manager , click Courses, click the course you want to delete, then click Delete.
Before you publish, if you want to undo a delete, click the course, then click Revert.
Important: Deleting a course only deletes it from the iTunes U catalog. The course still exists in iTunes U. In iTunes U, instructors can delete unpublished courses on their own. However, to delete courses published in the iTunes U catalog, instructors must first contact you to delete the course from iTunes U Public Site Manager before they can delete the course from iTunes U.
