
Manage activities in Schoolwork
Use the Handout details view to discover students who might need extra challenges or attention. The information in the Handout details view can help you determine students who might be falling behind, who might need to try an activity again, or who might need a little extra time after you lock a Handout.
You can also use the Handout details view to return work to your students.
Find students needing extra challenges or attention
In the Schoolwork app
, tap
Handouts in the bottom tab.
In the sidebar, tap Recents or a class, then tap the Handout you want to view.
Use the Student Data chart to help you determine which students might need extra challenges or attention.
Ask students to retry an activity
In the Schoolwork app
, tap
Handouts in the bottom tab.
In the sidebar, tap Recents or a class, then tap the Handout you want to view.
Tap the activity you want a student to try again, tap a student row with progress Ready to Review, then review the work.
Tap
, tap Ask to Try Again, enter instructions telling the student you want them to work on the activity again, then tap
.
Note: If students mark the activity done again without retrying, Schoolwork displays the previous progress data.
If Allow Notifications is selected for Schoolwork (Go to Settings > Notifications > Schoolwork, then tap Allow Notifications), Schoolwork sends you a notification when students submit revisions. Tap anywhere in the notification to open the Handout details view, then view the revision.
Allow students extra time to complete an activity
In the Schoolwork app
, tap
Handouts in the bottom tab.
In the sidebar, tap Recents or a class, then tap the locked Handout you want to view.
Tap the activity you want to give a student extra time to complete, tap
for a student whose progress is Not Done, then tap Allow to Complete.
In the locked Handout, Schoolwork unlocks the activity for the student you selected.
Return Handout files to students
In the Schoolwork app
, tap
Handouts in the bottom tab.
In the sidebar, tap Recents or a class, then tap the Handout you want to view.
Do one of the following:
Tap the activity with the files you want to return, then do one of the following:
To return work to all students, tap Return to Students, then tap Continue.
To return work to an individual student, tap
for the student whose work you want to return, tap Return to Student, then tap Continue.
Tap Mark as Completed, then tap Continue.
Schoolwork cancels any outstanding requests for work, returns copies of all Handout files to all students, marks the Handout complete, then moves the Handout to the Completed view. Providing students copies of all their Handout files can help them build a portfolio of their Schoolwork projects.
