Complete and delete Handouts in Schoolwork
Depending on if you want to return Handout files, save Handout details, or permanently remove a Handout and progress data, you can mark the Handout completed or delete the Handout.
Once you mark a Handout completed or delete a Handout, you can’t undo it. When you mark a Handout completed, Schoolwork cancels any outstanding requests for work, returns copies of all Handout files to all students, then moves the Handout to the Completed view. When you delete a Handout, the Handout and progress data are deleted and no longer available in Schoolwork. However, shared files are still available in iCloud Drive and shared with students and teachers who received the Handout.
Note: If you no longer want a class, but want to save the Handouts in the class, you can remove the class. When you remove a class, Schoolwork saves view-only copies of all associated Handouts in a class archive.
Mark a Handout completed
When your students are finished with Handout activities and you’ve reviewed student progress and work, you can mark a Handout completed.
In the Schoolwork app
, tap 
Handouts in the bottom tab.In the sidebar, tap Recents, a class, or Favorites.
Tap the Handout you want to mark as completed, tap Mark as Completed, then tap Continue.
Schoolwork cancels any outstanding requests for work, returns copies of all Handout files to all students, marks the Handout completed, then moves the Handout to the Completed view.
Delete a Handout
If you no longer want a Handout or any of the progress data, you can delete it.
In the Schoolwork app
, tap Handouts in the bottom tab.In the sidebar, tap Recents, a class, Drafts, Favorites, Imports, or a class archive in [your organization].
Do one of the following:
Tap the Handout you want to delete, tap
, then tap Delete.Tap
for the Handout you want to delete, then tap Delete.
Note: To delete a group of imported Handouts, in the sidebar, tap Imports, then tap Delete All next to the group of Handouts you want to delete.
Note: When you delete an active Handout, the Handout and progress data are removed and no longer available in Schoolwork for you or your students. However, shared files are still available in iCloud Drive and shared with students and teachers who received the Handout.
