Play a sound on your device

If you think your lost iOS device or Mac is nearby, you can play a sound on it to help you find it.

To play a sound, you need to have set up Find My iPhone on the device before it was lost.

Play a sound

  1. Sign in to icloud.com/find using your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud).

    If you’re already signed in to a different application on icloud.com, click the iCloud button iCloud button to switch applications.

  2. Click Devices, then select the device on which you want to play a sound.

  3. In the device’s Info window, click Play Sound.

    If the device is online, the sound plays immediately (for two minutes). If the device is offline, the sound plays the next time the device is online.

After the sound plays, a confirmation email is sent to your Apple ID email address (the one you use with iCloud).
