Create Shared iPad passcodes in Apple Business
If one or more users need their Shared iPad passcode, perform this task so they can sign in to Shared iPad. For federated authentication users, see Create a new sign-in.
Create Shared iPad passcodes for a single federated account
In Apple Business, sign in with a user whose role has permissions to create, edit, and delete Managed Apple Accounts.
To view roles and permissions, see Intro to roles and permissions.
Search for, then select, the user you want to create a passcode for. See How to search.
Select the user from the list, select More
, select Lock
, then select Create.Select Create Sign-in
to create new sign-in information for a user that hasn’t yet signed in with their Managed Apple Account.Start with step 6 in the task Create sign-in information for a single user.
Reset a Shared iPad passcode for a single user
If a user forgets their Shared iPadpasscode, you can reset it for them in Apple Business. If federated authentication is turned on, this doesn’t change their federated password.
When the user signs out of Shared iPad, they’re asked to authenticate again using their federated authentication password, then enter the temporary passcode.
In Apple Business, sign in with a user whose role has permissions to create, edit, and delete Managed Apple Accounts.

Search for, then select, the user whose password you want to reset. See How to search.
Select More
, then select Lock
.Enter a new passcode, select Continue.
If necessary (for federated authentication accounts) select Sign Out Devices.
