Restore an Apple Vision Pro with Apple Configurator for Mac
In rare cases, an Apple Vision Pro may not start up correctly and needs to be restored. You need to have the Developer Strap to complete this task. For more information, see visionOS Resources on the Apple Developer website.
Important: A Developer Strap purchased before October 22, 2025 can restore Apple Vision Pro. A Developer Strap purchased after October 22, 2025 can restore Apple Vision Pro and Apple Vision Pro (M5).
Unplug the Apple Vision Pro from the battery.
Wait 30 seconds.
Connect the Apple Vision Pro to the Mac using a Developer Strap.
Launch Apple Configurator
.Connect the battery, then immediately press and hold the top button (the button on the left, not the crown).
Select the Apple Vision Pro in the Apple Configurator window.
Do one of the following:
Choose Actions > Advanced > Restore.
Control-click the Apple Vision Pro, then choose Advanced > Restore.
