Reset Shared iPad passcodes in Apple School Manager
If a user forgets their Shared iPad passcode, you can reset it for them in Apple School Manager. If federated authentication is configured, this doesn’t change their federated password.
Reset Shared iPad passcodes
In Apple School Manager , sign in with an account that has privileges to reset passwords, generate verification codes, and create sign-in information. See Role privileges.
Click Accounts in the sidebar, search for an account in the Search Accounts field, then select the account from the list. See Search for user accounts.
Click More , then select Reset Shared iPad Passcode .
Enter a new passcode, click Continue, select how the passcode will be delivered, then click Continue.
If necessary (for federated authentication accounts) click Sign Out Devices.
Do one of the following:
Click Create a downloadable PDF and CSV or Send as an email, then click Continue.
Click View in Activity to view this activity, then click Done.
When the user signs out of Shared iPad, they are asked to authenticate again using their federated authentication password, then enter the temporary passcode.
