About Schoolwork tasks
Tasks provide a way for you to measure students’ understanding of a concept, topic, or lesson, and share information or homework with students.
Get started by task type to create and assign student work. Depending on the task you send to your students, Schoolwork creates:
An assessment. After you send the assessment, students must complete it in Schoolwork using only the available Markup tools to draw, write, and add stickers (open book assessments only), text, and shapes. As students turn in their work, use Schoolwork to review and analyse results. Analysing results can help you assess understanding, determine future instruction, and evaluate which students might need a little extra help.
An assignment. Use assignments to send students activities, request work from your students, or send announcements. Using the different types of activities available for assignments, you can incorporate a variety of apps into your class instruction. To get detailed data from the activities you send to your students, make sure your school’s IT administrator turns on the Student Progress feature in Apple School Manager.
You can send an assessment to an entire class or to one or more students in a class, schedule an assessment to send at a later time, or save an assessment as a draft until you are ready to send at a later time. If you have multiple teachers in your class, assessments you schedule are visible and editable by all teachers. Drafts are only visible to you. Your students can view tasks across all their classes to keep track of everything they need to complete.
Note: You need an Internet connection to send a task. If your Internet connection is interrupted, you can save your task as a draft to send at a later time. For assignments, you can save as a draft as long as the assignment doesn’t contain any file attachments.
