Change Downtime settings in Screen Time on Mac
Use Downtime settings in Screen Time to schedule time away from the screen, or to turn downtime on or off as needed. During downtime, only apps that you choose to allow and phone calls are available.
To change these settings on your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Screen Time in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Click the Family Member pop-up menu on the right and choose a family member (if you’re using Family Sharing), then click Downtime.
View statistics for one app or all apps combined.
When you turn downtime on, your child is notified that downtime begins in 5 minutes. Turn it off to allow your child to resume using their device.
View the current downtime schedule status and turn the schedule on or off.
To set up an automatic downtime schedule, click the pop-up menu, then do one of the following:
Choose Custom, then turn downtime on or off and enter start and end times for each day.
Block at Downtime
Block a child’s device during downtime. When the device is blocked, the child can ask for more time.
This option is available only when you’re using a Screen Time passcode. See Change Screen Time settings.
