Suspend patient access to Health records or Health app data sharing
Suspend access to a FHIR API endpoint for Health Records
When you perform routine maintenance affecting your Health Records FHIR API endpoint or you experience unscheduled downtime, you may need to temporarily suspend patient access to the endpoint.
Sign in to Health Records at Apple Business Register.
A list of your FHIR API endpoints appears.
For the endpoint you’re suspending, click in the right column, then click Take Offline below Health Records.
While your FHIR API endpoint is offline, any of your patients who try to connect to your organization see a message that the health record server is unavailable and to try again later. Existing patients can’t download new data.
If your organization enabled Health app data Share with Provider and your Health Records FHIR API endpoint is offline, your patients won’t see your organization listed as an option in the Health app when they try to share data with their providers. Data sharing is also suspended for patients who previously set up sharing. Providers, however, can continue viewing previously shared data.
To reenable access to the endpoint, go to the FHIR API Profile screen for the endpoint, click Enable Edit Mode, then take the actions presented by the button near the top of the screen—for example, by clicking Send for Review followed by clicking Publish Now.
