Siri AI: Use the Siri app on Mac
When you turn on Siri AI (Beta), you have a dedicated Siri app that brings all your conversations together in one place, so you can ask a question on your Mac and pick up where you left off on your other Apple devices when you’re signed in to the same Apple Account. You can also pin conversations for easy access or start a new one.
Siri AI is available in beta on macOS 27 or later on an Apple Intelligence-enabled MacBook Neo (A18 Pro) or Mac model with M1 or later with Siri and device language set to a supported language. Available in English to start. Usage limits may apply.* | |||||||||||
Start or continue a conversation
Go to the Siri app
on your Mac.
Click
to start a new conversation, or choose a conversation on the left that you want to continue.
Do one of the following to enter your request:
Type your request: Enter your request using the keyboard, then press the Return key.
Speak your request: Click
, then speak your request. Click
to type to Siri.
Do any of the following:
Add photos: Tap
, then click Photos. Select the photos, then click Add.
Add files: Tap
Ask follow-up questions: Enter follow-up questions.
View your conversation history
You can view your conversation history, which syncs across platforms when you’re signed in to the same Apple Account.
Go to the Siri app
Your conversation history appears on the left.
To change how your conversation history is displayed, tap
at the top, then click
Grid or
List.
Search and pin conversations
Go to the Siri app
Do any of the following:
Search a conversation: Click
, enter what you’re searching for, then press Return.
Pin conversations: Control-click the conversation on the left, then choose Pin.
Rename conversations
Go to the Siri app
Control-click a conversation on the left, then choose Rename.
Enter the new name for the conversation, then click OK.
Delete Siri conversations
Go to the Siri app
Do one of the following:
Delete one Siri conversation: Control-click the conversation you want to delete, choose Delete, then click Delete to confirm.
Delete multiple Siri conversations: Command-click to select the conversations you want to delete. Control-click on a selected conversation, click Delete, then click Delete to confirm.
Change Siri App settings
In Siri App settings, you can choose what appears when you open the Siri app and how long to keep conversations.
Go to the System Settings app
on your Mac.
Click Siri in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
Do any of the following:
Choose what appears when you open the Siri app: Click Opens To, then choose Recent Conversations or A New Conversation.
Choose how long to keep conversations: Click Keep Conversations, then choose an option.
Note: If you choose 30 days or 1 year, older conversations are permanently deleted.
Choose a conversation preview length: Click Preview, then choose an option.
