Change Hardware settings on Mac

On your Mac, use Hardware network settings to configure a hardware interface and view its MAC address. Learn how to enter hardware options.

To change these settings, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click Network in the sidebar, click a network service, click Details, then click Hardware. (You may need to scroll down.)

Options

Description

MAC address

View the media access control (MAC) address for the selected network interface.

Configure

Choose a hardware configuration method: Automatic or Manual.

If you configure hardware manually, enter additional settings as needed, such as MTU, or speed and duplex.
