Problems with course contributors in iTunes U for web
If you have trouble inviting contributors, accepting and declining contributor invitations, or working with multiple instructors in iTunes U for web, keep the following in mind:
Only the course owner can add a contributor to a course.
To add a contributor, you must specify a valid Apple ID or Managed Apple ID in the Admin | Instructors pane.
Contributors can help develop, edit, and manage the course, but cannot:
Edit the course institution or licensing information
Submit the course to the iTunes U catalog
Add additional instructors to the course
Delete, duplicate, transfer, or send a copy of the course
Add material to the course from their My Materials Library
If a contributor adds a material to the course, iTunes U adds the material to the course Materials pane and the owner’s My Materials Library. To add as an iTunes link material as a contributor, you must reference an item currently available in the course owner’s country.
To invite a contributor to a managed course, both you and the contributor must be associated with the same organization in Apple School Manager or the contributor’s iTunes U Public Site Manager institution must be linked to your Apple School Manager organization. You cannot invite a student of a managed course to also be a contributor on a course.
iTunes U supports concurrent access to courses, but concurrent editing can result in data loss. For example, conflicts can occur if two or more instructors edit a course at the same time. In this case, iTunes U updates the course based on the first instructor to save changes. Because later save attempts can result in data loss, Apple recommends you copy and paste content as much as possible while editing courses.
If the owner of a managed course is no longer associated with the Apple School Manager organization (for example, the instructor retires), iTunes U automatically transfers the course to an alternate iTunes U instructor listed in the Apple School Manager class information.
