Logic Pro for Mac bounce in place overview
You can bounce tracks or regions in place, so that the resulting audio files are placed at the same position as the originals in the Tracks area. You can also bounce all tracks in place in a single operation.
Using the Bounce in Place commands, you can process audio and software instrument tracks or the regions on those tracks. The audio file format of the bounce is 24-bit, using the project sample rate.
The Bounce in Place function may seem similar to the Freeze function, but there are several differences:
Both save CPU power by rendering all effect and instrument plug-ins of a track.
Freeze allows you to return to the original state of the tracks and their automation data more easily than Bounce in Place.
Freeze uses the 32-bit floating point format to safeguard against volume clipping.
Note: An offline bounce in place is performed for audio and software instrument tracks with internal sound sources. When audio or MIDI signals are routed to external sound sources, a real-time bounce in place is performed. The Bounce in Place commands can’t be used with external MIDI tracks.
