Unsend, edit and delete messages on Apple Vision Pro
In the Messages app , you can unsend or edit recent messages, giving you the opportunity to pull back a message you accidentally sent to the wrong person or fix a typo. Your recipient sees that you unsent a message and your edit history.
Unsend a message
You can undo a recently sent message for up to 2 minutes after sending it.
Pinch and hold the message, then tap Undo Send.
A note confirming that you unsent the message appears in both conversation transcripts: yours and your recipient’s.
Note: If the person or group you’re exchanging messages with is using a device with iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6 or macOS 12, or earlier, or is using SMS, the original message remains in the conversation. When you unsend a message, you’re notified that the recipient may still see the original message in the message transcript.
Edit a sent message
You can edit a recently sent message up to five times within 15 minutes of sending it.
Pinch and hold the message you want to edit, tap Edit, then make your changes (or tap to revert).
The message is marked as Edited in the conversation transcript
Note: If the person you’re exchanging messages with is using a device with iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6 or macOS 12, or earlier, or is using SMS, they receive a new message with your updated text. Otherwise, the message bubble is updated to reflect your edits on their device, and both of you can tap Edited to see previous versions of your message.
Delete a message or conversation
With Messages in iCloud, anything you delete from Apple Vision Pro is also deleted from your other Apple devices where Messages in iCloud is turned on. The Messages conversations of your recipients aren’t affected. See Use Messages in iCloud.
Delete a message: Pinch and hold a message, tap More, choose the messages you want to delete, then tap .
Delete a conversation: In the Messages list, swipe left on a conversation, then tap .
You can restore messages you deleted for up to 30 days. In the Messages list, tap Edit, then tap Show Recently Deleted; or tap Filters, then tap Recently Deleted. Any message you delete from a conversation using Unsend is permanently deleted.
