Transfer licences to another organizational unit in Apple Business
Within your organization, you can move licences from one organizational unit to another. You can also transfer licences, either to consolidate purchases from multiple accounts or to decentralize and distribute licences to match your organization’s structure. (For example, an organizational unit in Apple Business might represent a building, a department, or a group.)
To transfer licences in Apps and Books, search for and then select an app in your library. In the details section, you can view the number of available licences at each organizational unit you have access to. Select Transfer, then, in the dialog box, enter both the number of licences (up to 24,999 at a time) and the organizational unit where you want to move them. The transfer, which may take a few minutes, updates the number of licences at the new organizational unit. The new number of licences for the content token appears in your device management service. Check your external device management service documentation for the expected behaviour.
Note: Transfers won’t disrupt licence assignments. Only unassigned licences can be transferred.
