After you apply a preset text behavior from the Text Sequence subcategory, you can modify its settings to suit your needs.
In the Layers list or Timeline in Motion, select a preset text sequence behavior.
In the Parameter row of the Behaviors Inspector, click the Add pop-up menu, then choose a parameter.
The parameter is added to the preset.
When you add a preset text behavior, its bar in the Timeline is usually much shorter than that of the text layer it’s applied to. This is by design: most preset text animations apply a brief introductory effect to a text layer (a fade-in, for example).
You slow down or speed up the animation by changing the duration of the behavior’s bar in the Timeline.
In the Layers list or Timeline in Motion, select a preset text sequence behavior.
In the mini-Timeline or Timeline, do one of the following:
To slow the effect, drag the right end of the behavior bar right (to lengthen the effect) to the frame where you want the animation to end.
Note: You can also move the playhead to the frame where you want to set the new Out point, then choose Mark > Mark Out (or press O).
To speed up the effect, drag the right end of the behavior bar left (to shorten the behavior) to the frame where you want the animation to end.
Note: You can also move the playhead to the frame where you want to set the new Out point, then choose Mark > Mark Out (or press O).
If a preset text behavior contains a glow parameter, you can change the default glow color in two ways: in the Text Inspector or in the Behaviors Inspector.
In the Layers list or Timeline in Motion, select the preset text behavior.
Do one of the following:
In the Appearance pane of the Text Inspector, choose a color in the Color well of the Glow controls.
Important: Selecting the Glow checkbox results in an additive effect: The values defined in the Appearance pane are added to those in the text behavior. This may cause the look of the preset to change. Deselecting the Glow checkbox retains the color change without the additive effect.
In the Parameter row of the Behaviors Inspector, click the Add pop-up menu, then choose Glow > Color.
The Color parameter is added to the Glow parameters in the behavior.
