Join a Family Sharing group in Family Sharing on Mac
You can join a Family Sharing group when the family organiser adds you or when you accept an invitation.
After joining a Family Sharing group, you can do any of the following:
Change your Family Sharing settings
Change the Apple Account you use to share your purchases with your group or stop sharing your purchases.
Choose whether each family member can see the location of your devices
Note: The organiser, a parent or a guardian can turn on location sharing for a child aged under 13 years at any time. For family members aged 13 to 17 years, they can turn on Location Sharing only when the family member is first invited to join. The organiser, parent or guardian can also restrict the ability change location sharing settings for family members under 18 years old. (Age varies by country or region.)

Join on the family organiser’s device
If you’re nearby when the family organiser adds you to the Family Sharing group, you can join the group immediately by entering your Apple Account information on the family organiser’s device.
After the family organiser chooses Invite in Person on their Mac, iPhone or iPad, enter your Apple Account email address or phone number and your password.
On a device that’s signed in to your Apple Account, click Allow to see a code.
On the organiser’s device, enter the code.
Accept or decline an invitation from AirDrop, Mail or Messages
Click the invitation you received from the family organiser using AirDrop, Mail or Messages.
Do one of the following:
Join the family: Click Join Family.
Don’t join the family: Click Decline.
If you don’t have an Apple Account, you must create one before you can accept an invitation to a Family Sharing group.
Accept or decline an invitation in System Settings
On your Mac, choose Apple menu
If you don’t see the invitation, make sure you’re signed in to the Apple Account that the organiser sent the invitation to.
Click View, then do one of the following:
Join the family: Click Join Family.
Don’t join the family: Click Decline.
After you join, family members receive an email informing them that they are now sharing with you.
