Managed Migration Assistant declarative configuration for Apple devices
You can use your device management service to migrate the content of a user’s Home folder from one Mac computer to another managed Mac computer. This process uses Setup Assistant to migrate subfolders in the user’s Home folder. You can specify exactly which subfolders get migrated in the declarative configuration of the device management service. If the Home folder contents on the original Mac exceed the storage capacity of the Mac you want to migrate to, priority is given to the content listed in the RequiredPaths attribute.
This configuration supports the following:
Minimum supported operating system versions and channels: macOS 26.4 device.
Requires supervision: Yes.
Supported enrollment methods: Automated Device Enrollment.
The user’s Library folder (~/Library) is always migrated. Other items available for migration are shown in the table below:
