About publishing in Public Site Manager
Publish your site to make your content live in the iTunes U catalog and visible to the public. Publishing affects all pages listed in the Publish view.
iTunes U Public Site Manager defines the criteria that your site must meet before publishing:
Your provider page must include at least one populated feature box
If your site does not meet this publishing criteria, iTunes U Public Site Manager displays a list of warning messages indicating the changes you need to make before you can publish your site live to your users.
The first time you publish your site, it can take up to 3 hours to display your site in the iTunes U catalog and to display your site name in the iTunes U providers lists. Depending on your changes, subsequent publish requests can take several minutes to an hour before the changes are live.
Note: If you are ready to publish but have specific content you do not want to make visible to the public, you can temporarily block the content from your users. For example, if you have an out-of-season or newly added course not ready for publishing, you can hide the course from your iTunes U Public Site Manager site without losing any information. When you are ready to publish the content, you simply unhide the course.
