Use Siri with apps on Mac
Siri integrates with your apps so you can complete everyday tasks and shortcuts with your voice. When you turn on Siri Suggestions, you can also get suggested actions in your apps before you ask. When Location Services is turned on in Privacy & Security settings, Siri even provides information based on location—like reminding you of something when you leave a specific location. You can also use Siri Suggestions in apps.

Let Siri make suggestions in apps
When you turn Siri Suggestions on or off, you get suggested actions in some apps even before you ask. For example, when you get an invitation in Mail, you’re asked if you want to add it to your calendar. Or when you browse webpages, you get suggestions for related webpages.
Here are some ways you can get things done more easily when Siri Suggestions are on:
Write email and create events: As you add names to an email or calendar event, you get suggestions based on people you included in previous emails or events.
Create a reminder: When someone asks you to do something (for example, “Can you get milk tomorrow?”) and you provide an answer (such as “Yes”), you can have a reminder created for that item.
Receive FaceTime calls: If you receive an incoming FaceTime call, and the phone number can be found in your contacts or emails, the caller is identified by name. Otherwise, the caller is identified as unknown.
Leave for an event: If your calendar event includes a location, you receive a notification telling you when to leave based on traffic conditions.
Search in Safari: Suggested websites and other information appear in the search field as you type.
Confirm an appointment or book a flight on a travel website: You’re asked if you want to add the event or other travel information to your calendar.
Read News stories: You can get suggestions based on stories you read and channels and topics you follow.
Run shortcuts with Siri
A shortcut provides a quick way to get things done using your apps. You can use Siri to run any shortcut in the Shortcuts library.
Some apps offer shortcuts for things you do frequently, so you can use Siri to do them for you. For example, an app for a coffee shop might let you easily place your regular order with a shortcut.
To add a Siri Shortcut from an app on your Mac, click Add to Siri when you see a suggestion, then follow the onscreen instructions to record a phrase that performs the shortcut.
To run a shortcut with your voice on your Mac, activate Siri, then speak the phrase for the shortcut.
