Distortion effects in Pixelmator Pro on Mac
Pixelmator Pro includes Distortion effects to warp and reshape images, objects, and text:
Bump creates inward or outward bumps in an area.
Pinch squeezes the layer toward a point for a compressed look.
Twirl twists the layer clockwise or counterclockwise around a center point.
Displacement Map distorts the layer based on values from an imported grayscale map to create realistic texture effects.
Circle Splash stretches the layer from a circular area toward the edges.
Hole makes a hole in the layer, pushing and distorting the surrounding area outward.
Light Tunnel stretches the layer with a twistable tunnel effect from an adjustable center point.
Distortion effect controls
Distortion effects have the following adjustment controls in the Effects pane. You can access the controls after applying an effect to a layer or adding an effects layer
Control | Used in these effects | Description |
|---|---|---|
Radius | Bump, Pinch, Circle Splash, Hole, Twirl, Vortex | Drag this slider to control the size of the affected area. Larger values create broader distortions that affect more of your layer. |
Scale | Bump, Pinch, Displacement Map | Drag this slider to control the size and intensity of the effect. |
Angle | Displacement Map, Twirl | Rotate this wheel to control the angle from which the effect is applied. |
Amount | Displacement Map, Vortex | Drag this slider to control the intensity of the effect. |
Rotation | Light Tunnel | Rotate this wheel to add rotation to an effect. |
Smoothness | Displacement Map | Drag this slider to control how an imported file is blended into the layer. Larger values create smoother blending. |
Effect ropes | All distortion effects | Drag these onscreen controls to position the center point of distortion effects. If effect ropes aren’t visible, click |
