Edit a brand in Apple Business Connect
If your company makes a minor change to its brand name or logo, you can edit that information in Apple Business Connect. After making the changes, Apple needs to approve the updates and it can take up to 5 business days for this information to appear in Apple services for your customers. Here are some examples of minor changes:
Better Bag is changing their logo color from dark green to light green.
Better Bag is changing their name to Better Bags (adding an s).
Note: Resizing an existing logo isn’t considered a rebrand.
Rebranding
If your company makes a major change to any or all of the following, this is known as rebranding and you need to make these changes in Apple Business Connect:
The current brand logo: For example, Better Bag is changing their logo from two B letters to two bag images. You need to add a new brand logo.
The current brand name: For example, Better Bag is changing their brand name to The Best Bags. You need to add a new brand name.
The company name: For example, Better Bag acquires another company named Best Bags and wants to rebrand all Better Bag stores to The Best Bags stores.
This may involve only a logo change, only a name change, or both.
After making the changes, Apple needs to approve the updates. Depending on the number of locations you have, this change might take some time, and it can take up to 5 business days for this information to appear in Apple services for your customers.
Before you begin
If a major brand name change is necessary, Apple maintains both names in Apple Maps for a short time. For example, when someone searches using the new brand name, the location appears as open in search results. When someone searches using the old brand name, the location appears as closed.
When you rebrand hundreds or thousands of locations, it can be helpful to create a schedule to update locations in Apple Business Connect in alignment with signage changes at the physical locations. Customers have a much better experience if the locations in Apple Maps match what they see at the physical locations. The Apple Business Connect team supports companies that require a longer time range for their rebranding.
Note: If you work with a Third-Party Partner, contact them to manage the rebranding for you.
Any locations that you don’t specifically add under the new brand remain open under the old brand. If those locations remain independent under the old brand, it might be better for someone else to manage the information for them.
When you update a brand logo, Apple Business Connect replaces it in all the areas associated with that logo, such as:
On the Place Card for each location
Branded Mail
Tap to Pay on iPhone
Contact Apple Business Connect Support if you have any questions before or during the rebranding process.
