Edit, reorder, and remove course materials in iTunes U for web
You can edit, reorder, and remove materials in your course.
Edit a course material
You can edit material metadata for materials you uploaded from your computer or added as a web link.
In iTunes U for web, click All or a media type (for example, Video, Audio, Books) in the Materials pane for the course where you want to edit materials.
Click , then click Edit in the material pop-up pane.
Enter a new name, author, and description for the material.
You can edit material metadata to provide more user-friendly names, authors, and descriptions for your materials. You can enter up to 255 characters for the name and author and up to 1000 characters for the description. If you enter more characters, or upload a file containing more than the maximum allowed characters in the name, author, or description fields, iTunes U truncates the name, author, or description.
Enter a new web URL link, if applicable.
Click Refresh to retrieve metadata from the web URL source. iTunes U overwrites any edits you made with the most recent metadata from the web URL source.
Select “Contains explicit content” to indicate the material contains content not suitable for all students.
Choose a license for the material from the License pop-up menu, if applicable, then click Save.
Currently, licensing information is not visible outside of iTunes U.
Reorder course materials
By default, iTunes U displays materials in a course Materials pane in reverse chronological order by upload date. You can reorder course materials by dragging a material to a new location in the course Materials pane.
In iTunes U for web, click the Materials button for the course where you want to reorder materials.
Click All in the Materials pane, then hover the pointer over the material you want to move.
Drag up or down in the Materials pane.
An insertion bar appears to indicate where you can drop the selection. iTunes U reorders materials in the Materials pane.
Remove a course material
When a material is no longer needed, you can remove it from a course. Removing a material from a course removes the material from the current course and any course assignments using the material.
In iTunes U for web, click All or a media type (for example, Video, Audio, Books) in the Materials pane for the course where you want to remove materials.
Hover the pointer over the material you want to remove, click , then click Remove.
iTunes U removes the material from the current course, but does not remove the material from your My Materials Library.
Note: The material is still available in your My Materials Library. To use the material in the future, you can add it to a course using From My Materials.
Remove a feed from a course
When an RSS feed or Atom feed is no longer needed, you can remove it from a course.
In iTunes U for web, click the Materials button for the course where you want to remove a feed.
Click Feed Materials, then click .
Click to view all materials within the feed.
Hover the pointer over the feed you want to remove, click , then click Remove.
iTunes U removes the feed from your course and stops adding new materials from the feed. Previously added materials are not affected.
Note: To resume updates and use the feed in the future, you can add it back to the course. If you add the feed again, iTunes U adds only missing materials. Any existing materials from My Materials Library and any edits you made in iTunes U to the previous materials’ metadata remain.
