Edit, format, and delete posts in iTunes U for web
After you create a post, you can always edit the post to update the information (for example, change instructions, explanations, and so on), add and edit assignments and attachments, and reorder posts in your course. You can also use the post format controls to quickly change how posts appear to your students. When you no longer need a post, you can remove it from the course.
iTunes U displays your formatting while editing the post in the message box and in iTunes U on iOS, not in the Posts pane.
Edit a post for a course
In iTunes U for web, click Posts > All Posts (self-paced courses), Recent Posts (in-session courses), All (in-session courses), topic, or Drafts for the course where you want to edit a post.
Hover the pointer over the post you want to edit, then click (or click the post).
In the post detail page, click Edit, then choose an outline topic from the Topic pop-up menu or choose Announcements for in-session courses.
You can only post to top-level topics in your outline.
Edit the post title (for example, the name of the lesson or topic being discussed).
Do one or both of the following:
Edit the post message.
You can use rich text formatting (for example, bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, highlight, alignment, lists, web links, and images) to enter message descriptions or use another tool to create your description (for example, Pages), then cut and paste your description into the message description field.
Add or edit an assignment for the post.
Enter an assignment title and description (for example, the task or to-do), select a due date (in-session courses only), enable grading and hand-in, click “Attach material” to attach a material to the assignment, then click Back. To delete a specific due date, hover the pointer over the due date, then click .
Click Add Assignment to include additional assignments with your post, or click to delete an assignment.
Do one of the following:
Click Save, if your post was previously posted to your course.
Click Post, if your post was previously saved as a draft and you are now ready to post it live to your students and users.
Note: Keep the following in mind when attaching a material to an assignment: when possible use links to attach a material, organize materials on your computer in a directory so you can easily attach a material, and provide original materials used in the lectures (for example, slides, videos, photographs) as separate materials.
Reorder posts
The Posts panes display posts you’ve added to the current course. By default, iTunes U displays posts:
For in-session courses, in reverse chronological order by post date (in Recent Posts) and by outline topic in chronological order by creation date (in All).
For self-paced courses, by outline topic in chronological order by creation date.
You can reorder posts by dragging a post in Posts | All, Posts | All Posts, or Posts | topic to a new location in the pane.
In iTunes U for web, click Posts > All (in-session courses), All Posts (self-paced courses), or a topic (in-session or self-paced courses) for the course posts you want to reorder.
Hover the pointer over the post you want to move.
Drag up or down in the Posts pane.
An insertion bar appears to indicate where you can drop the selection. iTunes U reorders posts in the Posts pane.
Note: Because iTunes U displays posts in Recent Posts in reverse chronological order by post date, you cannot reorder posts in the Posts | Recent Posts pane.
Format text in a post message
In iTunes U for web, edit a post for the course where you want to format text.
In the message box, select some text or click where you want to type new text, use the format controls to change text appearance, then click Save.
