Open a document in Pixelmator Pro on iPad
You can open images and documents from your iPad, iCloud Drive, or connected servers (including third-party storage providers). Pixelmator Pro supports common image formats and file types, including supported RAW formats.
Open a document on your iPad, a connected device, or a server
On your iPad, go to the Pixelmator Pro app, then do either of the following:
In the Pixelmator Pro welcome screen, tap Browse.
Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the menu bar, then choose File > Open.
Navigate to an image file on your iPad, iCloud Drive, or a connected device or server, then tap the file.
The image opens in the Pixelmator Pro window.
Tip: Tap Recents in the Pixelmator Pro welcome screen to access files that you worked on recently.
Open a document from the Clipboard
The Clipboard is a feature in iPadOS that remembers the last thing you copied. If you copied an image, you can open it in Pixelmator Pro without having to locate it on your device.
On your iPad, copy an image to the Clipboard.
Go to the Pixelmator Pro app.
Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the menu bar, then choose File > New from Clipboard.
The image you copied opens in the Pixelmator Pro window.
By default, Pixelmator Pro converts images to .PXD files, which preserves layers and formatting. You can save a Pixelmator Pro file as a JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP, or HEIC file, or export it to other formats for use in Motion, Photoshop, and other apps.
