Search for channels, topics, or stories in News on Mac
Apple News makes it easy to find the channels, topics, and stories that interest you.

Search News
In the News app on your Mac, type what you’re looking for in the search field at the top of the sidebar (if the sidebar isn’t shown, click in the toolbar).
You can enter the name of a channel, a topic (such as fashion or politics), or an event (such as a meteor shower). Stories, channels, and topics that match your search term are listed; you may need to scroll down to show all of the search results.
Do any of the following in the search results:
Read a story: Click a story.
See a channel or topic: Click a channel or topic to show the stories in its feed.
Follow a channel or topic: Click its Add button . The button changes to a checkmark to indicate you now follow the channel or topic.
Unfollow a channel or topic: Click its Checkmark button . The button changes to a plus to indicate you don’t follow the channel or topic.
See additional actions you can take: Control-click a search result, then choose an action from the shortcut menu, such as Copy Link or Block Channel.
To clear the search results, click the Clear button in the search field.
Use your recent searches
When you click an item in the search results, News adds your search term or the item to the Recent Searches list so you can use it again.
See your recent searches: Click the search field at the top of the sidebar.
See the latest results of a search: Click a search in the list.
Clear your recent searches: Click Clear at the top of the list.
