Select layers in Pixelmator Pro on iPad
When working in a composition with multiple layers, be sure to select the layer (or layers) you intend to edit. Most tools in Pixelmator Pro affect only the currently selected layers. Some tools—such as the Arrange, Style, and Type tools—can act on multiple selected layers at once.

If you’re unable to select a layer directly in the canvas, make sure the Auto Select pop-up menu is set to Layer in the Arrange pane.
