Track app and device usage in Screen Time on Mac
Screen Time displays how much time you spend in apps, the number of notifications you receive, and the number of times you use your Mac and other devices. You can change the display to show statistics over different time periods, and for individual apps and devices.
You can’t see the reports until you turn on Screen Time. See Set up Screen Time for yourself.
Note: To use all the latest Screen Time features, you need iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, or visionOS 27 or later on all your Apple devices. If you’re setting up these features within a Family Sharing group, all devices in your family must be upgraded to iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, or visionOS 27 or later. View app and device usage summaries
Go to the System Settings app
on your Mac.
Click Screen Time
in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
Click Daily Average, then do any of the following:
View app usage: See the chart. The bars represent your total usage. The colored parts represent different categories, shown under the chart. The gray parts represent usage that doesn’t fall into those categories.
Display statistics by device: Click the Device pop-up menu to choose a specific device, or choose All Devices to see the combined statistics.
Change the time period: Select Day or Week above the chart. You can also scroll left or right above the chart to view data from different time periods.
View notifications and pickup summaries
Go to the System Settings app
Click Screen Time
Click Daily Average, then do any of the following:
Daily Average: View the total amount of time spent on your device per day.
Notifications: View the number of notifications you receive from apps.
Pickups: View the number of times you wake your device.
Display statistics for apps: Select Apps & Websites.
Display statistics for Time Allowance Categories: Select Time Allowances.
Display statistics for app categories: Select App Categories.
Click Day or Week above the chart. Scroll the chart left or right to see other time periods.
