Enter Japanese full-width or half-width numbers on Mac
After you set up a Japanese input source, you can choose to enter full-width or half-width numbers. Full-width numbers are spaced apart to align with kana or kanji characters.
Enter full-width numbers
On your Mac, switch to a Japanese input source.
To enter full-width numbers in an app, do one of the following:
While using the Full-width Romaji input mode, press the number keys on your keyboard.
While using the Hiragana or Katakana input mode, click the Input menu in the menu bar, choose Open Japanese - Kana Preferences or Open Japanese - Romaji Preferences, then make sure the “Full-width numeral characters” checkbox is selected. Press the number keys on your keyboard.
Enter half-width numbers
On your Mac, switch to a Japanese input source.
To enter half-width numbers in an app, do one of the following:
While using the Romaji or Half-width Katakana input mode, press the number keys on your keyboard.
While using the Hiragana or Katakana input mode, click the Input menu in the menu bar, choose Open Japanese - Kana Preferences or Open Japanese - Romaji Preferences, then deselect the “Full-width numeral characters” checkbox. Press the number keys on your keyboard.
