Create an identity preference in Keychain Access on Mac
Some secure websites or email servers may require you to use a client certificate to identify yourself as part of their login security. If you use multiple client certificates, you can create an identity preference that specifies which certificate to use when you log in, so you don’t have to select it each time.
Create a new identity preference
In the Keychain Access app
on your Mac, select “login” in the Keychains list.Select My Certificates in the Category list.
Select the identity certificate you want to use, then choose File > New Identity Preference.
In the Location or Email Address field, enter the location (wildcard domain) or the email address for which the certificate is required.
Click Add.
To review the identity preferences you’ve created, click the Kind column heading while you’re viewing your certificates, then look for “identity preference” in the Kind column.
Note: When you create an identity preference for a website in an app, that identity preference is only available in that app. If you later access that website in a different app, you must create a separate identity preference for that website that’s specific to the app. In Keychain Access, identity preferences show an identifier that indicates where the identity preference was created.
Remove an identity preference
In the Keychain Access app
on your Mac, select “login” in the Keychains list.Select All Items in the Category list.
Click the Kind column heading to sort all items by kind, then scroll down until you see your identity preferences listed.
Select the identify preference and press Delete, then click Delete.
