Enter Japanese full-width or half-width numbers on Mac
You can choose to enter full-width or half-width numbers. Full-width numbers are spaced apart to align with kana or kanji characters.
Enter full-width numbers
On your Mac, set up and switch to a Japanese input source.
To enter full-width numbers in an app, do one of the following:
While using the Full-width Romaji input mode, press the number keys on your keyboard.
While using the Hiragana or Katakana input mode, click the Input menu in the menu bar, choose Open Japanese Preferences, then make sure “Full-width numeral characters” is selected. Then press the number keys on your keyboard.
Enter half-width numbers
On your Mac, set up and switch to a Japanese input source.
To enter half-width numbers in an app, do one of the following:
While using the Romaji or Half-width Katakana input mode, press the number keys on your keyboard.
While using the Hiragana or Katakana input mode, click the Input menu in the menu bar, choose Open Japanese Preferences, then deselect the “Full-width numeral characters” checkbox. Then press the number keys on your keyboard.
