Remove or hide an image background in Pixelmator Pro on iPad
You can quickly remove the background from an image with the Remove Background feature in Pixelmator Pro. Remove Background works best for images with solid colored backgrounds, such as a product shot taken in a studio, or a studio portrait. For images with busier backgrounds, Remove Background can help isolate your subject, but you may need to do additional work to remove the background completely.
In Pixelmator Pro on iPad, select a layer in the Layers sidebar.
Do either of the following:
Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the menu bar, then choose Edit > Remove Background.
Pixelmator Pro automatically deletes the background.
Drag down from the top of the screen to reveal the menu bar, then choose Mask > Hide Background.
Pixelmator Pro automatically adds a layer mask to hide the background.
Important: If you use Remove Background on a layer group, Pixelmator Pro creates a layer mask, hiding the background instead of deleting it. To delete the background, you can use Remove Background on each layer within the group individually.
