Use Glances on your Apple Watch

With a glance, you can get quick summaries of information, control music on your Apple Watch or iPhone, check your battery, see where you are on a map, and more.

Check a glance

Swipe up on the watch face to see the glance that you viewed last, then swipe left or right to see others. For example, swipe to the Settings glance to turn on Airplane Mode. To return to the watch face, swipe down.

To open an app from its glance, tap the screen.

Use Siri

You can ask Siri to open any glance for you, even if you hid the glance on your Apple Watch. For example, hold down the Digital Crown, say "Show the Activity glance," then release the Digital Crown.

Organize your glances

In the Watch app on your iPhone, you can see the glances that come with your Apple Watch and glances from third-party apps.

To change the order of your glances:

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone and go to the My Watch tab.
  2. Tap Glances, then tap Edit.
  3. Touch and hold Reorder button next to a glance, then drag it up or down.

To choose which glances appear on your watch:

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone and go to the My Watch tab.
  2. Tap Glances, then tap remove icon or add icon. You can include up to 20 glances, but you can’t remove the Settings glance.
