When you try to sync high-quality standard-definition (SD) videos to your iPod classic or iPod nano, you might see a message that reads "[Your File]" was not copied because high-quality SD video is not compatible with the iPod "[Device Name]."
Before you can sync videos to older generations of iPod classic or iPod nano, you need to change the video quality of your iTunes Store downloads.

Change your settings
- Open iTunes.
- Mac: From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose iTunes > Preferences.
Windows: From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Edit > Preferences. - Click the Store tab.
- Deselect "Download high-quality SD videos."

- Click OK.

Sync your videos
- In iTunes, find the video that you want to sync. Hold the cursor over the video's title until the More Options icon
appears. Click the icon, then choose Delete.

- If you have iCloud Music Library turned on: When prompted to delete the video, click Remove Download.
If you don't have iCloud Music Library turned on: When you see "Are you sure you want to delete this copy of the selected item?", click Delete Item. Then, when you see "Do you want to move the selected item to the Trash, or keep it in the iTunes Media folder?", click Move To Trash.
- Re-download the video by clicking the download icon
. - After the video downloads, sync it to your device.
