Mac mini (2024) Power Supply

Before You Begin

Danger: Ensure that the power cord isn't plugged into an electrical outlet.

Remove the following parts before you begin:

Tools

  • Adjustable torque driver (0.3–1.2 Nm)

  • Torx Plus 6IP 152 mm bit

  • Torx Plus T25 50 mm bit

Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.

Removal

  1. Use the 0.3–1.2 Nm adjustable torque driver and T25 bit to remove the four T25 screws (923-11039) from the power supply.

  2. Stand the computer on its back with the front ports facing up as shown.

  3. Use the adjustable torque driver and 6IP bit to remove the two 6IP screws from the AC inlet.

  4. Lay the computer on a clean, flat surface as shown.

  5. Pull the AC inlet away from the housing until it clears the edge of the housing.

  6. Lift the power supply and remove it from the housing.

Reassembly

  1. Lower the power supply into the housing as shown.

  2. Place the AC inlet into the opening in the housing.

  3. Stand the computer on its back with the front ports facing up as shown.

  4. Use the 0.3–1.2 Nm adjustable torque driver and 6IP bit to partially reinstall the two 6IP screws into the AC inlet.

  5. Lay the computer on a clean, flat surface as shown. Then plug the end of the power cord into the AC inlet to ensure AC inlet alignment. Adjust the alignment of the AC inlet until the end of the power cord is easy to insert and remove.

    • Danger: Ensure that the power cord isn't plugged into an electrical outlet.

  6. Set the torque value on the 0.3–1.2 Nm adjustable torque driver to 0.3 Nm.

  7. Use the adjustable torque driver and 6IP bit to fully reinstall the two 6IP screws into the AC Inlet.

  8. Remove the power cord.

  9. Set the torque value on the 0.3–1.2 Nm adjustable torque driver to 1.2 Nm.

  10. Use the adjustable torque driver and T25 bit to reinstall the four T25 screws (923-11039) into the power supply.

Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:
